handpainted a crown, upholstered the back with ruffles, finished the seat and added a cream ribbon with nailhead trim.

Barstool Upgrade!

When you only have one barstool and none matching you might as well make 1 super cute! I started by sanding/painting the wood. Then added the fluer de lis in the center. I wanted to do something super cute on the seat so I laid out the fabric and pinned it then sewed the sides so that the seat cushion is ruched linen. I then added the linen and burlap ruffle underneath for a skirted look, then some twine in all of the creases of wood, and a corset with nailheads to the back and added more linen ruffles that can be seen from the front as well! This chair will be displayed and for sale at a local winery event!

Old crate into storage footstool!

I forgot to take a picture before I painted the outside, but just so you get the idea it was the same as the wood that you see on the inside :)

It was an old tomato catsup crate that I found at my local antique store for $16!

I used it for a friends baby nursery (more pics to follow) made an upholostered lid and voila!

What a money saving this trick is!!!!
I stole this idea from pinterest, had to try it out! Heres how I did it!

Start by taking off all of the slats, so all you have are the strings.

Next hem all of the edges of your fabric. Then lay it out, and glue the top of the blind onto the top of the fabric.
I started to put some of the slats back in I spaced them every 9 in". Then I ran the string back through the slats as well, and glued them down.

 Heres how it looks layed out. I put the bottom back on and finished off the the string with a knot.

And the finished product! I would make sure to use a little thicker fabric because you do see the slats when the sun comes through.

Fabric flowers!

Start with cutting circles from fabric, I used the cap off a spray paint can to trace my circles. I cut about 90 for this larger flower.



Then you cut out a larger circle and fill it with stuffing and glue it, this will become what you glue the petals to.

Now with each circle you will fold in half and hand sew the open end with a simple stitch. And you will just start stringing them onto the string until you have a long chain.

 

Next you will start to glue them onto the pouf of fabric and start from the edge and work your way around until you get to the center.

Then I added some little gold pearls to the center!

I chose to pin several diferent types fo fabric flowers to a white linen shower curtain, but they would look cute on just about anything!!
